Job summary

Sight & Sound Systems, Inc. in Dulles, VA is seeking technicians for residential system installations and security alarm services. The role emphasizes hands-on field work, leading teams, and a proactive, curious approach to building and troubleshooting complex AV networks.

You will install, configure, and test low-voltage cabling, mount AV devices, and coordinate with clients to ensure project success. A background check and DCJS licensure are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites.
• Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, use power tools & hand tools.
• Steady work history (3yrs between hops).
• Ability to pass background check for Virginia DCJS license.

Responsibilities

• Pull/Terminate/Test Low-Voltage Cabling (Category, Fiber, Speaker, Lutron).
• Mount devices at the ends of those wires (AV/Network/Control/Lighting/Shading).
• Build and lace equipment racks.
• Advanced setup and configuration of devices; extensive network understanding.
• Advanced troubleshooting of devices.
• Activation and configuration of residential security alarm systems.
• Lead and guide fellow technicians on projects.
• Programming (a plus).
• Client communication, support and training.

Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 / hour

Description

We are the contractor of choice for residential system integration services with several local and regional home builders in the Northern Virginia area. Technicians will have broad responsibility to install home theatre systems, and service residential security alarm systems.

You Are:

• A trustworthy individual. Hungry to learn and grow. Hands-on and love being in the field as opposed to being behind a desk. Technically inclined, leading teams, and always curious how things work.

You Have:

• Experience on construction sites. Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, use power tools & hand tools. A steady work history (3yrs between hops), a pleasant disposition, High EQ.

• 23430 Rock Haven Way, Suite 150, Dulles, VA 20166

Your Schedule:

• Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week
• Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)
