Job description

We're seeking a passionate and technically adept Lead Event Technician to spearhead the growth and execution of our client's newly established, state-of-the-art event spaces.
In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of the entire technical lifecycle, from pre-production planning to flawless execution and post-event analysis. You'll collaborate closely with the Mountain View onsite production coordinator, the London team Coordination and Events team, and key client stakeholders, ensuring seamless delivery of exceptional event experiences.
SALARY RANGE:
$135,000 - $150,000

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical setup and operation of sophisticated AV systems, including Ross Carbonite switchers, ETC Ion lighting desks, Sony RCP 1500s, and SSL L100 audio consoles.
  • Drive research and development initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced output quality.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistent excellence in event delivery.
  • Serve as the technical expert in client engagements, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactively collaborate with clients to implement technical enhancements and ensure their vision is realised.
  • Represent the technical team in client meetings, fostering strong relationships and exceeding expectations.
  • Manage the end-to-end technical support lifecycle, mitigating risks and ensuring seamless event execution.
  • Lead the planning, staffing, and delivery of diverse event requests, consistently meeting and exceeding SLAs and KPIs.
  • Grow and mentor a team of AV and Event technicians, assessing skills and implementing training to improve efficiency and proficiency.
  • Oversee the reporting of staff, client, and technical failures.
  • Leverage your experience in a broadcast environment, particularly within gallery/master control room settings, to ensure professional and high-quality productions.
  • Have a deep understanding of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, and town hall meetings.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in operating a range of installed AV equipment, including Ross Carbonite, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500 and ETC Ion lighting desk
  • Exposure to ETC Ion lighting desk and Sony RCP 1500 is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team
  • Experience working in a broadcast environment, with specific exposure to operating in a gallery/master control room setting
  • Understanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings etc.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of professional technical live event production experience
  • 3+ years experience of line managing a team of AV and Events technicians at varying levels
