Job summary

George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex at Texas A&M System Offices seeks a Senior Research Engineer I to lead the architectural design of our autonomy stacks.

You will drive high-level system architectures and prototype solutions for coordinating heterogeneous assets, including UGVs, UAVs, and helicopters, in challenging environments. You will mentor staff, coordinate cross-platform integrations, and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Six years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Architects and implements the core frameworks for multi-agent coordination, setting modularity, performance, and scalability standards.
  • Conducts background research to scope emerging problems and develop prototypes.
  • Develops high-performance, robust code (Python/C++) for embedded hardware and ROS2 middleware.
  • Leads system experimentation and field testing at the RELLIS campus for large-scale demonstrations.
  • Translates mission objectives into robust system architectures and actionable roadmaps.
