Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a senior leader in automotive hardware engineering to drive cross-functional program management from concept through production readiness. You will manage hardware and software risks, lead engineering gateways, and coordinate with SIT, Finance, Manufacturing and suppliers to ensure timely, quality program delivery.

The role requires a strong background in hardware development processes, DFMEA, ECUs, and vehicle integration, with a proven ability to navigate

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in automotive hardware engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience leading complex hardware programs from concept to production readiness.
  • Experience managing or guiding engineering teams across functions.
  • Strong understanding of automotive hardware development processes (sourcing, release, validation, BOM, DFMEA).
  • Experience with ECUs, electrical architectures, platform hardware, vehicle integration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive resolution of electrical hardware and software risks, technical challenges, change control, and cost.
  • Lead team direction through engineering gateways, financial milestones, and industrialization from pre-program through Job 1, liaising between SIT, Finance, STA, Manufacturing, and NML leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with functional D&Rs, hardware and software teams, and TPMs to ensure on-time, quality work supporting program content.
  • Ensure all electrical hardware is sourced, released, validated, and delivered to support program timing.
  • Support the DV process by driving DFMEA development, leading hardware audits and reviews, and ensuring proper classification and test planning.
  • Lead ECU part updates for all platform breadboards and preproduction builds, coordinating with D&R Engineers, SITs, suppliers, and MP&L.
