Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking an Automation Technician to support 2nd shift operations, mentoring junior technicians and maintaining robotic welding cells. You will troubleshoot PLCs and electrical circuits, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with robot programming and teach pendant tasks to ensure production targets are met.

Required: diploma or better in maintenance or related field, plus relevant certifications and several years of automation experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Industrial Maintenance or Electrician journeyman certification or 2-year technical degree or equivalent.
• Mechatronics certificate or journeyperson card preferred.
• Associates degree in mechatronics or maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 6 years combined experience as an Automation Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Automation Technician I members and Weld Technicians.
• Follow safety procedures while servicing or maintaining equipment.
• Troubleshoot using electrical/mechanical prints and PLC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic robot programming tasks.
• Work with robotic applications and assist in teach pendant programming.
