Lead the heartbeat of a highly automated facilityStep into a senior role where building systems, robotics, and high-speed material handling equipment rely on your leadership. As the Lead Automation & Mechatronics Maintenance Technologist, you’ll guide shift operations, mentor technicians, and partner with Automation support teams to keep critical assets reliable and available.A day in the lifeYour shift begins with a safety huddle and a quick scan of CMMS work orders. Moments later, you’re diagnosing a PLC I/O anomaly on a conveyor zone, tracing signals from photo-eyes through relay logic and ladder diagrams. You verify motor starter performance, assess a proximity sensor fault, and return throughput to plan. Later, you audit a preventive maintenance route, update OEE/Up Time metrics, and coach a technician through a lockout/tagout procedure. Throughout the day, you collaborate with our Client and Operations Maintenance teammates to uphold safety, quality, and operational standards.Core responsibilitiesChampion safety and adherence to all procedures across a highly automated environment.Repair, maintain, and enhance performance of MHE and robotic systems throughout the facility.Lead and audit preventive maintenance programs to maximize reliability and uptime.Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids.Direct emergency repair response for critical assets and mentor technicians through structured training plans.Create, prioritize, and close work orders in the CMMS with precise documentation.Build productive partnerships with our Client and Operations Maintenance team members.Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.Note: We welcome candidates who are shift flexible/open to shift. What you bringHigh school diploma or GED.4+ years working with automated conveyors and controls.Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Experience applying MHE safety practices in line with OEM and safety standards.Working knowledge of electrical/electronic principles, NEC, and industrial electronics.Ability to execute preventive, procedure-driven maintenance and read blueprints/schematics.Hands-on experience with PLC programs and 3+ years of work order management.Skill using data/diagnostic tools to track and interpret metrics such as OEE/Up Time for prioritization.Analytical, calm under pressure, and effective at problem solving in routine and emergency scenarios.Eligibility and physical requirementsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred qualificationsAssociate’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.Prior leadership and vendor management experience. Background in robotic maintenance and CMMS best practices.Certifications in one or more: electronic, electrical, mechanical, access control servers, PLCs, process controls, robotics, or mechanical power transmission.Technical strengthsLeadership and people development; project management.Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including 120/208/240/480V systems.Insulation resistance testing; LOTO expertise.Equipment installation & wiring; repair & maintenance.Tools and technologiesVariable Frequency Drives (VFD)Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)Conveyor systems
