Job summary

Capital on Tap is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to champion quality within a dedicated Mission team. You will own testing strategies across payments, onboarding and banking features, and drive automation development for API, UI and mobile tests.

You’ll lead CI/CD integration, support AI-assisted testing, and coach engineers in best practices. The role begins fully remote, then shifts to a Lisbon-based hybrid model, with a salary range of €65,000–€75,000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA Automation/SDET within an Agile team
• Proficient in modern automation languages (C# or JS/TS)
• Experience testing fintech systems (card issuing, transactions, risk)
• Hands-on with UI and API automation tools (Playwright/Cypress, API testing)
• Familiar with Azure, Git, and CI/CD workflows

Responsibilities

• Define and own comprehensive testing strategy for your domain with QA Team Lead
• Lead automation efforts; design, develop and maintain automated tests (API, UI, Mobile)
• Promote a Shift-Left mindset with Product Owners and Developers
• Manage automation targets and use data-driven insights to predict risks
• Coordinate CI/CD quality gates and ensure tests run within pipelines
