Job summary

Fresh Consulting's Fresh Automation practice seeks an Automation Engineer with a strong background in high-volume manufacturing automation. You will design, develop, and integrate industrial control systems, including panel wiring, software and hardware interfaces, and safety compliant solutions for Fortune 500 and mid-size clients.

You will collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics and Service Engineering teams to deliver scalable automation solutions, mentor junior engineers,

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Masters Preferred.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and experience designing control panels in 3D.
Experience electrical systems meeting UL508A and NFPA 79, including wiring diagrams and panel development.
4-8+ years’ experience in the design of manufacturing control systems for industrial factory automation.
Experience developing PLC control solutions using SFC, Structured Text and Ladder Logic.
Experience with multi-axis servo systems, industrial robots, state machines, PLCs and robotics safety.
Ability to support scoping, cost estimating, proposals, marketing and business development.
Strong oral and written communication skills for client interactions.

Responsibilities

Design and develop industrial control systems to support automation solutions for industrial applications including custom machines and robotics.
Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers, including pre-sales visits and packaged offerings.
Travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed and lead project teams.
Develop and maintain Automation team best practices and mentor engineers.
Ensure features meet milestones and optimize for cost and quality.
Design software architecture and interfaces, model and simulate where possible, and verify feasibility.
