Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Manager to lead a local team in Santa Clara, CA, delivering full automation solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and networks. You’ll collaborate with client owners in a fast-paced environment to meet schedule, design requirements and system integration.

Typical candidates have a PE license, a bachelor’s in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics, 10+ years of related experience and hands-on expertise with

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics engineering.
PE licensure required or equivalent professional credential.
10+ years of direct, relevant experience in automation and controls.
Strong background with PLC/HMI/SCADA, and major automation platforms.
Experience with MES integration, databases, and IIoT.

Responsibilities

Manage onsite team of engineers, technicians and programming specialists.
Provide scope, schedule and budget information to the project leadership.
Provide engineering leadership, guidance and technical expertise.
Architect full automation solutions including PLC, HMI, SCADA, networks, and field devices.
Coordinate with internal and external global teams to establish successful schedules.
Lead development of HMI/SCADA systems with focus on usability, performance, and reliability.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex system failures and production issues.
Provide mentorship and growth opportunities within the team.
