Jobot is seeking a Lead Audio‑Video Installation Technician to join our growing team in the Williamsburg area. You will lead field installations, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high‑quality AV solutions from start to finish on diverse commercial projects.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of AV installation experience, strong leadership, and hands‑on expertise with displays, projectors, structured cabling, audio systems, and video distribution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience installing and troubleshooting commercial AV systems.
• 3+ years leading AV installations or supervising technicians.
• Experience with flat panel displays, projectors, structured cabling, 25/70-Volt audio, video distribution, IP encoders, control systems, DSP systems, rack building and wire lacing, cabling rough-ins.
• Certifications & Industry Training

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee commercial AV installation projects
• Train and mentor junior technicians onsite
• Coordinate with sales engineers, project teams, clients, and contractors
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems and infrastructure
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to client expectations

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Audio‑Video Installation Technician with experience installing and troubleshooting commercial AV systems. This role is ideal for someone who can lead projects in the field, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high-quality installations from start to finish.

Projects range from simple conference room setups to fully integrated commercial building systems. This position is primarily field‑based, supporting projects throughout the Greater Hampton Roads and Richmond areas.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee commercial AV installation projects
• Train and mentor junior technicians onsite
• Coordinate with sales engineers, project teams, clients, and contractors
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems and infrastructure
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to client expectations

Required Experience & Skills

• AV Installation & Technical Expertise
• 5+ years of experience installing and troubleshooting commercial audio/video systems
• 3+ years leading AV installations or supervising technicians
• Experience with:

Qualifications

• Own basic industry tools
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain DCJS licensing
• Comfortable working on ladders and using power tools safely
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt in fast‑paced environments
• Strong willingness to learn and grow within the industry
