Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom is seeking a lead Audio Engineer to own live and studio audio production for conferences, seminars, galas, and webinars in Arizona. You will manage front-of-house, monitor, and broadcast mixes, and serve as the primary audio engineer for the Arizona studio and media hit studio.

You will maintain and improve audio systems, coordinate RF and Dante networking, and support post-production with dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, and loudness normalization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in audio engineering, music production, media production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional audio experience in live event production, studio recording, and post-production audio settings, including primary A1 responsibility for events using professional-grade systems.
• Demonstrated experience with mixing front of house and monitors live for spoken word and music in rooms of varying size and acoustics.
• Ability to manage multiple events, studio sessions, and deadlines independently with limited crew.
• Knowledge of live sound reinforcement principles, digital audio consoles, and show file workflows (Yamaha, DiGiCo, Allen & Heath, Avid).
• Knowledge of RF and wireless microphone systems, audio-over-IP (Dante, AES67), and networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of broadcast and streaming audio requirements, studio recording and post-production practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the A1 for assigned events, designing and operating front-of-house, monitor, and broadcast mixes with clarity and consistency.
• Design room-specific system and loudspeaker configurations, tune, and align for venue acoustics and infrastructure.
• Coordinate wireless mic and IEM systems, RF scanning, antenna distribution, and battery management.
• Prepare input lists, patch sheets, stage plots, and console show files ahead of load-in, communicating needs to producers and crew.
• Mic, sound check, and support presenters and musicians, briefing them on mic technique and monitoring.
• Load in, set up, operate, strike, and load out audio systems including consoles, amplification, loudspeakers, cabling, playback, and intercom.
• Coordinate audio with video switching, lighting, and show control cues to ensure a unified production.
• Diagnose and resolve audio problems in real time, applying redundancy and backups to minimize disruption.
