Job summary

Royal Productions seeks a Director of Audio to own audio standards nationwide. You will design systems, source gear, manage inventory, and support properties in person and remotely. The role emphasizes training staff, coordinating RF, and ensuring top-level sound for large-scale events across hotels and venues.

You will travel regularly to productions and properties, with a strong focus on engineering excellence, reliability, and scalable audio solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional live audio experience in hotel AV, corporate events, or production.
• Strong system design judgment to match rig to room, scope, and budget.
• Deep wireless and RF knowledge with frequency coordination across multi-room shows.
• Experience with digital mixing consoles, DSP, wireless mics and IEMs; Dante audio networking is a plus.
• Comfort owning purchasing and vendor relationships, treating company funds responsibly.
• Excellent organization for inventory and equipment care across multiple markets.

Responsibilities

• Design audio systems for ballrooms and conference spaces to fit room, scope, and budget.
• Set and maintain the company’s audio standards and best practices.
• Review large proposals and show designs to ensure deliverability.
• Build purchase lists and advocate capital purchases as needed.
• Source gear, compare options, and negotiate with dealers and manufacturers.
• Manage audio vendor relationships, warranties, and service agreements.
• Own audio inventory, QC gear, track service and replacements.
• Lead audio package for new properties from specification to delivery and training.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support; train staff on new gear.
• Participate in planning of larger productions and RF coordination on multi-room shows.
• Step in as A1 or system tech on high-profile programs.
