Job summary

The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking an Attorney IV (Complex Litigation) to lead complex state and federal litigation, mentor other attorneys, and serve as subject-matter expert on the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act.

The role requires working closely with outside counsel and advising DDS executives to achieve favorable outcomes while managing discovery burdens.

Qualifications

• California State Bar License is required.
• Experience handling complex civil or regulatory litigation.
• Ability to liaise with outside counsel and executive staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex and sensitive state and federal litigation against DDS.
• Mentor and train other Department attorneys in litigation matters.
• Advise Executive Staff on management of complex cases and discovery burden.
