Job summary

Conboy Law Injury & Medical Malpractice Lawyers in Chicago seeks a highly organized Lead Attorney to join our expanding team. Admission to the Illinois Bar and at least two years' experience in Personal or Criminal law are required.

You will lead a team, manage caseloads, and oversee litigation from inception through trial. The position offers a starting base salary of $125,000 per year, a remote work option, competitive benefits, and bonus opportunities in a respected Illinois firm with offices

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage your team’s caseload from inception to trial.
• Oversee discovery, depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trial.
• Draft and review pleadings and motions.
• Prepare for and attend court appearances (virtual or in-person).
• Negotiate settlements and interact with clients and medical professionals.
• Review medical records and causation.

We are looking for a highly organized, motivated, and ambitious Lead Attorney to work out of our [Location 1] office. ADMISSION TO THE BAR AND AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF LEGAL EXPERIENCE IN [Personal/Criminal] IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate will have excellent legal writing and research skills, quickly learn our firm’s practice areas and confidently handle the following responsibilities:
• Efficiently manage your team’s caseload, including delegation and oversight of tasks for support staff assigned to your team;
• Oversee assigned caseload from inception through trial, including discovery, depositions, 50H Hearings and/or EUOs, arbitrations, mediations and trial;
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses;
• Prepare for and attend virtual and in-person court appearances;
• Enter into settlement negotiations with opposing counsel;
• Interact with clients and medical professionals;
• Review and evaluate medical records and causation;

Requirements include:

• Admission to the state bar association.
• Leadership, organization and communication skills to manage the caseload and team assigned to you;
• Ability to manage caseload and team tasks via the firm’s cloud-based legal case management system;
• Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and other parties;
• Experience with legal drafting and litigation procedures;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously;
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed;
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

This firm offers commissions with a base salary included.
