Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, Inc. seeks a Lead Associate to provide store leadership in the absence of the Store Manager and to deliver friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include cash handling, daily sales reconciliation, opening/closing procedures, and maintaining donation operations. Evening and weekend availability is required to support store hours.

Qualifications

• Lead Associate role requires supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as stores have extended hours.

• Hang, inspect, and tag textiles & clothing in a production style setting.

Job Description

Our Lead Associates provide store leadership in the absence of Store Manager/Assistant to the Manager, demonstrating to the store staff our commitment to friendly customer service and teamwork. They must show integrity and resourcefulness and enjoy a varied and very fast‑paced environment. Lead Associates are responsible for the following duties (some of which are required only in the absence of other management team):

• Close store, reconcile cash with daily sales reports, and secure facility for night.
• Prepare and maintain records of store operations including daily sales reports, cash deposits, opening/closing reports, and conduct inspections when necessary.
• Operate cash register and provide customer service.
• Receive, price and stock donations (receivers may occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and carry 10 to 35 pounds).
• Hang, inspect, and tag textiles & clothing in a production style setting.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Lead or supervisory experience required.

Schedule

Associates should be available to work most store hours, especially on evenings and weekends. Stores are open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 8 pm, opening at 11 am on Sunday.

Compensation

Pay: $16.50 per hour.
