Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking a hatchery team member in Hazlehurst, MS, to assist in the operation and supervision of hatchery processes, while maintaining PPE and complying with company policies.

Responsibilities include egg handling, training staff, equipment sanitation, and adherence to animal welfare guidelines, with opportunities to grow within a hands-on production environment.

Primary Function

Primarily responsible for performing a variety of duties within hatchery, and assisting/leading hourly team members. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Required Technical Skills

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements

• Stand up to 8 hours and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to heat (incubators are 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Exposure to wet and dusty environment.
• Frequently stoops, kneels, crawls and bends.
• Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.).
• Work around raw, live animal odors.
