Job summary

Windance Country Club in Mississippi is seeking a Lead Assistant Golf Professional to support the Director of Golf in all operations, including tee times, shop duties, and event management. The role emphasizes teaching, junior programs, merchandising, and staff supervision.

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma, 3+ years of golf course experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience; PGA Member or Apprentice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, and supervise Marshals and Starters.
• Effectively manage tournaments from planning through completion.
• Develop and implement golf clinics and junior camps.
• Assist customers by explaining and enforcing golf policies, rules, and regulations.
• Manage the PGA Junior League program.
• Operate the golf shop and outside operations in the absence of Salesclerks.
• Support the Pro Shop Supervisor with ordering, inventory, and credit management.
• Oversee all aspects of the member list, reporting any changes to the Director of Golf.
• Manage daily opening and closing procedures for golf operations as needed.
• Assume the Director of Golf’s responsibilities in their absence.
• Provide golf instruction to members and guests.

Job description

The Lead Assistant will support the Director of Golf in all aspects of the golf operations. The Lead Assistant will manage tee times, management of Marshals and Starters, tournaments and golf outings. Responsibilities also include teaching, junior golf camps, merchandising, training, and other related duties. This position reports directly to the Director of Golf.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma required. PGA Member or Apprentice is preferred. Must have at least three (3) years prior golf course experience. At least one (1) year of previous supervisory experience. Must have passion for the game of golf, with a commitment to regularly practicing and playing and have the proven ability to build and foster a collaborative team environment.
