Job summary

TelevisaUnivision in Austin and San Antonio is seeking an Assignment Editor/Producer to shape daily news coverage across broadcast, digital and social platforms. You will identify, develop and produce high-impact stories, coordinate field logistics, and help lead editorial decisions to move stories before deadlines.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong editorial leadership, urgent newsroom judgment, and the ability to guide reporters and crews while maintaining collaboration with digital

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Journalism or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of newsroom experience as producer, assignment editor or similar editorial role.
• Proven ability to develop and execute compelling newscasts and showcase major stories.
• Experience helping lead editorial discussions and coordinating daily newsroom coverage.
• Strong understanding of digital and social media strategies and audience behavior.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, develop, write and produce stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Lead editorial meetings, establish priorities and define the news day direction.
• Drive editorial conversations to strengthen angles and coverage.
• Coordinate interviews, breaking-news logistics and future coverage.
• Maintain strong communication with reporters, field crews and newsroom leadership.
• Source and verify content from social media and digital platforms across platforms.
