Role Summary:
Monitors workplace through patrols, cameras or other surveillance methods for safety and access issues. Takes action relative to internal theft or violation of regulations. Assists in creating theft prevention plans and policies. May prepare written reports, preserve evidence and represent the company in court.
Role Description:
Depending on your assigned department, you are responsible for:
● Supervise asset protection responsibilities for the Saks Global Fulfillment Center.
● Scheduling of asset protection staff to provide appropriate scheduling in a 24/7 environment
● Ensure that all asset protection staff members are appropriately trained as it relates to all asset protection programs and relevant procedures specific to the distribution center operation.
● Manage an effective access control system to ensure system performance and appropriate safeguards to minimize exposure to unauthorized personnel within the facility and property which includes working outdoors.
● Monitor all inbound and outbound truck carrier activities and procedures.
● Coordinate the completion of all asset protection-related audits for safety, physical security, alarm tests, etc, and communicate findings to AP Manager and Facility Management for corrective action.
● Utilize and ensure all CCTV components are functional while providing appropriate levels of surveillance capability within the facility.
● Investigate instances of loss within the facility as well as work with store, distribution, and corporate asset protection personnel in resolving issues of merchandise shortage and fraud. Initiate investigations into internal and external theft and shortages.
● Maintain strong, positive partnerships within the DC associate, management, and Asset Protection teams.
● Provide as needed, recommendations to the management team to better secure the facility and minimize. Complete all accident, incident, and case-related reports in an accurate and timely manner.
● Attend company-involved court proceedings, testifying if necessary.
● Develop and coach asset protection staff members.
Key Qualifications:
● High School Degree or GED required
● 1-5 years of experience in Asset Protection, in a similar environment.
● Must be available to work rotating schedules, extra hours, days or shifts.
● Must have understanding of the English language both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate understanding of English during the interview process.
● Possess articulate verbal and written communication skills.
● Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner to all levels.
● Good computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
● Excellent organizational and efficiency skills.
● Demonstrates enthusiasm in a team environment to deliver positive results.
● Must know how to distinguish between colors.
● Must be able to hear equipment and warning signals.
● May operate non powered warehouse equipment (i.e., pallet jack) which requires some coordinated movements.
● Demonstrated understanding of working with computer based systems.
