This senior-level position ensures safe and efficient traffic movement, monitoring roadways for incidents, congestion, and travel time issues.

The role involves working in the Active Arterial Management group to optimize travel on arterial roads, including traffic signal timing and malfunction reporting.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents, improving conditions.
• Monitor roadways via CCTV and detection systems, overseeing all related devices and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of traffic equipment, systems, and software.
• Use traffic equipment for incident management, ensuring safety and travel quality. Update and verify messages on DMS and 511 systems, entering incident data as needed.
• Familiarize with roadways and traffic devices.
• Alert staff to new or ongoing memos.
• Use SOG for incident detection, dispatch, and documentation.
• Coordinate with partners like law enforcement and emergency services.
• Dispatch and assist Road Rangers as needed.
• Handle duties with supervision or as shift team leader; train new operators if applicable.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of relevant experience, including 1 year as a Traffic Management Operator II or similar.

What You'll Bring:

• Strong knowledge of traffic management systems.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, including radio communication.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word.

What We Prefer:

• Experience with computer operation in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with traffic signal controllers and ATMS systems.
• IMSA Level 2 certification (provided by company).
• Background in traffic operations.
