Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Lead Architect / Senior Full Stack Developer to own CHEC's end-to-end architecture and lead a high-stakes, safety-relevant configuration platform. You will drive frontend React/TypeScript, .NET APIs, Azure services, and AI-assisted development strategies, while mentoring engineers and shaping QA automation and security standards.

Hybrid in-office schedule with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, open to Portland, OR or Fort Mill, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proven technical leadership / architect experience across full-stack development.
• Experience with system design and architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, DDD).
• Hands-on QA automation leadership and security-focused delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern CHEC's end-to-end technical architecture (React frontend, .NET APIs, backend services, data layers)
• Serve as technical authority across full-stack development and cloud infrastructure
• Define and enforce engineering standards, patterns, and best practices including AI-assisted development guidelines
• Lead the Automation QA effort including test strategy, tooling, coverage, and CI/CD quality gates
• Architect and review Azure-hosted services with emphasis on security, observability, and scalability
• Partner with UX, Product Owners, and Application Engineering on roadmap execution
• Mentor senior and junior developers and provide AI tooling guidance
• Ensure traceability, auditability, and strong validation for configuration changes
• Define and lead the team's AI-augmented development strategy and tooling selection
• Establish prompt engineering standards for AI-generated code and docs
• Evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and safety compliance
