Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a climbing arborist to lead a 2-5 person crew in Ardmore, OK. You will perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities, inspect job-sites, and mentor new employees.

The role requires tree climbing and line clearance experience and a valid driver’s license; CDL and pesticide licenses are a plus. Work is on-site with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive safety training provided by Davey.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Tree climbing experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, etc.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with planning and execution of tasks.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.
