Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a Groundskeeping Specialist within Facility Operations. You will maintain campus landscapes, lead nursery/greenhouse crews, and ensure planting, pruning, and upkeep align with approved designs and BMPs.

You will train staff, manage equipment and inventory, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with horticulture supervisors and the landscape architect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of nursery, greenhouse, and/or landscape work required.
• Associate degree in landscape horticulture or landscape design preferred.
• Possesses a valid driver's license and ability to be insured by IU.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus landscapes including plants, shrubs, and trees per standards.
• Plan and organize daily nursery/greenhouse activities and supervise staff.
• Provide training on planting methods and BMPs.
• Install mulches and planting schemes with design specifications.
• Prune, water, fertilize, and maintain plant material.
• Operate nursery/grounds equipment and monitor inventory.
• Respond to campus grounds emergencies and perform preventative maintenance.
