Job summary

The American Museum of Natural History seeks a tenure-track Assistant Curator/Assistant Professor to advance Lepidoptera evolution using genomics, imaging, and data science.

The successful candidate will lead a world‑leading collections‑based program, expand the Lepidoptera holdings, and teach PhD students within the Richard Gilder Graduate School, collaborating with nearby institutions for training and public engagement.

Qualifications

• PhD in Entomology or related field by application submission.
• Strong record in Lepidoptera research and museum collections.
• Experience building and leading a world‑class research program.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop original Lepidoptera research.
• Steward and grow AMNH's Lepidoptera collection.
• Collaborate across genomics, imaging, and informatics to advance biodiversity research.
• Advise PhD students and postdocs in the Richard Gilder Graduate School.
