Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC seeks an Assistant Technical Applications Manager to lead industrial gas detection and automation projects. You will design controls, support customers in the field, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver robust monitoring and control solutions.

The role blends engineering leadership with hands-on problem solving, field commissioning, and product development, offering impact across customers and products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering or related field.
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with field installations, startup, commissioning, and customer-site support.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or IDEC PLCs/HMIs.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical resource for industrial gas detection, automation, atmospheric monitoring, and control system applications.
• Lead system design activities including control architecture, automation strategies, communications, instrumentation, and system integration.
• Configure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Manage technical projects from concept through testing, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Develop technical proposals, quotations, system documentation, operating manuals, and compliance materials.
• Perform product and system testing, verification, validation, and troubleshooting.
