Job summary

The State of Iowa (Iowa Department of Management) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 5 (ITS5) to lead design, development, optimization, and support of software solutions for statewide services. You will architect new solutions and act as a Team Lead, driving UX research, accessibility compliance, and secure DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting software solutions for government or enterprise services.
• Ability to architect new solutions and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Strong background in accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508) and UX research principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and enterprise testing standards.
• Proven mentoring and team leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and support software solutions managed by DOM-DoIT for statewide services.
• Architect new solutions and act as a Team Lead.
• Implement UX testing, design, and research; ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Lead CI/CD and DevSecOps practices for security and efficiency.
• Mentor junior staff and train in AI engineering, SQL, .NET, Angular, and Design Systems.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders for project alignment.
