Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of professional experience delivering enterprise software solutions, including consulting or client-facing delivery.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience on the Appian platform.
• Demonstrated success managing full-lifecycle project delivery, including ownership of timeline, budget, and scope.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and serve as the primary client contact.
• Strong command of agile delivery methods and ceremonies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to executive stakeholders.

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Appian Developer to own delivery for our clients from start to finish, the person accountable for the outcome, the relationship, and the quality of what we ship. You'll lead cross-functional teams, shape technical direction alongside our architects, and serve as the trusted face of Simplify IA to client stakeholders. Above all, you'll carry our north star into every engagement: a relentless focus on our clients and their processes to deliver transformation that truly sticks. It's a role with real ownership and visibility, with room to grow as we scale.

Note: This role requires an active Appian Lead Developer certification. Candidates without it will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project delivery end-to-end with accountability for outcomes, timeline, budget, and scope
• Serve as the primary client contact for delivery, managing expectations and providing trusted status reporting to stakeholders
• Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning business analysis, development, and quality assurance
• Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and agile delivery ceremonies
• Identify, manage, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues
• Lead technical architecture decisions that shape solution direction, in partnership with solution architects
• Manage resource allocation across workstreams and ensure the quality of all deliverables
• Coordinate and deliver functional demos to clients at sprint reviews and milestone checkpoints, and lead functional and technical demos for senior client stakeholders
• Mentor project team members and support their professional growth
• Lead estimation for new work and support proposal development
• Manage vendor and partner resources assigned to engagements
• Build client relationships that support renewals and account growth

Required Qualifications

• Active Appian Certified Lead Developer certification (candidates will be asked to provide a certification ID for verification)
• 8–10+ years of professional experience delivering enterprise software solutions, including consulting or client-facing delivery
• 5+ years of hands-on experience on the Appian platform
• Demonstrated success managing full-lifecycle project delivery, including ownership of timeline, budget, and scope
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and serve as the primary client contact
• Strong command of agile delivery methods and ceremonies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to executive stakeholders
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to client sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience leading multiple concurrent work streams or a small project portfolio
• Experience supporting business development, proposals, and account planning
