Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Consumer & Community Banking API Marketplace team. You will design, build, and enhance a trusted API Platform, working across multiple disciplines and driving value for customers.

As a core technical contributor, you will lead end-to-end problem solving, mentor teams, and advocate for robust, secure, and scalable software delivery, including AI-assisted engineering practices and secure coding standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Hands-on programming with Java, Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Cloud Native, Agile, DevOps, and TDD
• Recent experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, and utilization of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Prior experience in building or using API Platforms, with deep expertise in API stack including security, gateways, design, and governance.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes in one or more technical disciplines
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently
• Practical cloud native experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• Experience leading AI-assisted development tools with quality controls
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

• Communicates with stakeholders and leads discussions with customers.

• Serves as a subject matter expert across focus areas.
• Contributes to engineering community and SDLC practices.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and delivery speed.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
