Job summary

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in an animal husbandry program or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising staff.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Knowledge of animal care safety and regulatory environments.
• Experience with facility management and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily unit operations ensuring proper husbandry and care and compliance with regulations.
• Provides guidance to staff, trains, and conducts performance reviews; schedules work and resolves workflow issues.
• Oversees animal health, handling, restraint, and transport between campus sites as per protocol.
• Maintains records, inventory, and prepares reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinates maintenance and equipment replacement; manages cage wash operations and sanitation procedures.
• Assists investigators with experimental procedures and compliance with IACUC, AAALAC, and related guidelines.
