Job Description:

Your Job: Oversees supply acquisitions, restocking anesthesia carts and areas. Works with Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist to ensure competencies for anesthesia techs are current and complete. Ensures anesthesia machines are set-up and calibrated for all anesthesia areas. Collaborates with Biomed to ensure equipment functionality or availability of loaner equipment. Provides orientation for new techs. Manages work and call schedules of anesthesia techs. Offers in-services on new technology, equipment, and supplies. Provides input for performance reviews of anesthesia techs to Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist.

Your Job Requirements:

• Associate Degree in a medically related field, or five years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
• B.S., B.A., or Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Respiratory Therapist Certification, LVN license, or Anesthesia Technician certification

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Assist surgery and anesthesia departments in risk management activities and ensure safety standards are met.
• Ensure terminal cleaning of anesthesia carts and equipment at the end of each day.
• Educate anesthesia technicians on calibrating anesthesia machines and equipment checks; hold them accountable for these tasks.
• Monitor anesthesia machines, setups, and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures and availability of supplies.
• Order anesthesia supplies, stock workrooms, and ensure all anesthesia areas are stocked.
• Oversee cleaning and restocking of anesthesia carts and equipment after use.
• Remove broken or malfunctioning equipment from service and coordinate repairs with Biomed or arrange for loaner equipment.
• Communicate effectively with appropriate personnel.
• Respond promptly to overhead pagers and beeper calls.
• Train new anesthesia technicians and monitor their performance; provide retraining as needed.
• Assist Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist with performance reviews.
