Job summary

Recruiting from Scratch is seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Android, to lead the Android platform on onsite basis in San Francisco. You will drive architecture, implement high-performance native apps with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and own initiatives from strategy to production launch.

Collaboration with Product, Design, AI, Backend, and Infra teams is essential. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years Android experience, deep architecture knowledge, and a track record shipping production apps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional Android software engineering experience.
• Proven track record shipping production Android apps with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Strong understanding of modern Android architecture, lifecycle, testing, debugging, and performance.
• Experience making architectural decisions across multiple projects.
• Mentors junior engineers to raise team quality.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development, and evolution of native Android platform.
• Design, build, and ship high-quality Android apps using Kotlin & Jetpack Compose.
• Own product initiatives from strategy through production release and iterations.
• Define engineering standards, testing, and release processes.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, AI, Backend, and Infra teams.
• Build reusable components and scalable architecture.
• Optimize performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost velocity while maintaining quality.
• Mentor engineers and foster a strong mobile engineering culture.
• Influence long-term mobile roadmap for global AI expert network.
