Job summary

A financial services company is actively seeking experienced Android Developers to work on various project engagements. The ideal candidates will implement best practices for developing Android applications, design and test apps from scratch, and work with APIs. Candidates should have a strong background in building customer-facing applications and be able to deliver high-quality code independently. This is a long-term contract opportunity located in Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• Good experience in creating custom UI's.
• History of building solid customer-facing apps in the Play Store.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality code.

Responsibilities

• Implement best practices for developing Android applications.
• Design, develop and test applications from the ground up.
• Develop/deploy Android OS applications using Java.
• Develop Android apps using Java on Android OS 4.0.3+ baseline.
• Troubleshoot, optimize and tune performance.
• Brainstorm new features and innovations.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Mobile Architect; align with CI and source control.

Lead Mobile Developers at Financial Services client; Expected to work independently and deliver high-quality code in a timely manner across a variety of project engagements. They are responsible for code reviews, standards and best practices enforcement. Tech Leads will participate in multiple phases of projects, including requirements gathering, software design, development and testing.

• Implement best practices for developing Android applications that target multiple devices and platform versions
• Design, develop and test applications from the ground up
• Work with outside data sources and APIs, often REST APIs
• Develop/deploy Android OS 4.0.3+ based applications using Java
• Troubleshoot, optimize and performance tune
• Innovate and brainstorm new features
• Work closely with a Project Manager and a Mobile Architect to execute solutions
• Set up build configurations to integrate with client continuous integration and source control systems
