Overview

The Lead Anaplan Model Builder plays a pivotal role in delivering sophisticated solutions to our clients. The Lead Anaplan Model Builder leads and participates in enterprise-sized client engagements, leveraging their advanced expertise in Anaplan and finance to design and implement multi-dimensional models. They will collaborate with internal teams and clients, ensuring successful execution of complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of delivery excellence, meeting utilization goals, and achieving project milestones. Leadership skills will be pivotal in mentoring team members, driving thought leadership, and participating in business development activities to support the growth of the company. As an intermediate-level subject matter expert (SME), they have deep knowledge of the industry or extensive experience as a senior architect, with proven ability to architect end-to-end solutions with multiple use cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Engagements: Lead end-to-end client engagements, providing expert guidance and support for enterprise-sized projects.
  • Project Leadership: Lead, build, and design intuitive, multi-dimensional Anaplan models for large or enterprise-size systems. Lead multiple large-scale projects and project teams.
  • Requirements Gathering: Utilize Anaplan and finance knowledge to lead requirements gathering sessions, ensuring comprehensive solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and clients on various assignments across multiple engagements.
  • Solution Design: Design and architect use cases, providing complex solutions that meet client needs. Architect and lead MBs on full model builds.
  • Client Engagement/ Workshops: Lead client workshops on training, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and deployment. Independently manage client relationships and lead overall client delivery from contract signature to successful deployment.
  • Meet Billable Hours Target: Meet or exceed the set target for billable hours by efficiently managing time and workload.
  • Mentorship: Mentor team members and provide leadership to Anaplan model builders, fostering their development.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Participate in strategic initiatives as required, supporting the company's growth and development.
  • Business Development: Actively supports business development activities, identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals.
  • Utilization Goals: Ensure billable utilization goals are met, maintaining high standards of delivery excellence.
  • Deliverables: Meet deliverable deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate project completion.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Competencies (SKACs)

  • Leadership: Experience leading medium to large end-to-end engagements with equivalent scope and size, including multiple use cases such as project management, budget strategy, and planning.
  • Project Management: Ability to lead the implementation of large, complex projects, including managing sprints and stand-ups. Ability to communicate clear requirements and deliverables to model builds on projects.
  • Quality Assurance/Testing: Proven experience in leading quality assurance (QA) and testing efforts, writing test scripts, and creating user stories.
  • Client Engagement: Experience leading small use cases with multiple fully referenceable clients, consistently delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced-level subject matter expertise in architecting end-to-end solutions with multiple use cases and data integration.
  • Anaplan Expertise: Strong experience using Anaplan software, with Model Builder certification and working towards Solution Architect certification.
  • Agile Practices: Demonstrated successful use of Agile methodologies, including leading small use case sprints and stand-ups.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, active listening and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compile and analyze data effectively.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated teamwork and citizenship skills, actively participating in team communication and collaboration.
  • Presentation Skills: Demonstrated effective presentation skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and confidently.
  • Business Acumen: Solid practical understanding of financial systems and procedures, with experience working in higher education or the public sector preferred.
  • Delivery Excellence: Ability to discuss honeycomb, thought leadership, and delivery excellence, consistently delivering high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

  • BA or equivalent in Computer Science, Finance, Analysis, or a related field.
  • 5 + years of project management, consulting, or technical experience.
  • SME Industry level of expertise: Deep knowledge of industry and solution build best practices.
  • Experience Level: Extensive experience in model building/design, with expertise in leading and designing complex, enterprise-level solutions.
  • Supervision: Independently leads enterprise engagements and provides strategic oversight.
  • Business Development: Demonstrated involvement in business development activities, identifying new opportunities, and expanding client engagements.
  • Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and developing junior consultants and team members.
  • Certification: Anaplan Model Builder certification, with significant progress towards Solution Architect certification.
  • Current Permanent US Work Authorization Required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior-Level Experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible project management, consulting, or technical experience, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities.
  • Advanced Degrees: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Executive Presence: Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and provide strategic guidance.
  • Global Project Experience: Experience managing complex projects, possibly on a global scale, understanding diverse regulatory environments and business practices.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Proven track record of addressing and solving complex business problems with innovative solutions.
  • Change Management: Expertise in leading organizational change initiatives, with a strong focus on change management strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in advanced Anaplan functionalities and integrations, along with experience in complementary technologies.
  • Performance Metrics: Strong track record of meeting or exceeding performance metrics, including utilization rates, project delivery, and client satisfaction scores.
