Job summary

Symetra is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to model data and deliver clean, well-documented datasets for Finance, Investment Management, and Actuarial teams. You will lead the migration of investment data from legacy sources to a modern cloud data platform, build scalable data architectures, and mentor junior engineers while promoting governance and best practices.

Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery, and proficiency in SQL and Python are required to enable trusted

• Experience designing data models, warehouses, and cloud data platforms for finance and actuarial reporting.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Experience leading data initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models, datasets, and data marts.
• Lead migration of investment data to cloud data platforms, ensuring quality and accessibility.
• Develop cloud-native data architectures and robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate with Finance, Investment Management, Actuarial, IT, and Analytics teams.
• Promote data engineering best practices, governance, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and review code and architectures.
