Join us in continuing to build unstoppable brands by captaining our proprietary cutting-edge reporting pipeline.
Chief Detective, isn't your typical digital marketing agency. We partner deeply with ambitious e-commerce brands to drive explosive growth through cutting-edge data analytics, paid media, and creative production. We're looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer who thrives on building innovative data solutions that power smarter marketing strategies and scale dynamic brands.
We’re pioneering a new kind of agency—a strategic growth partner combining data-driven paid media management (Meta, Google, TikTok), full-spectrum creative production, and next-level ecommerce strategy.
We apply a proven framework designed for explosive growth and have cultivated an impressive, fast-growing roster of clients who trust us to deliver exceptional performance.
About The Role
As our Lead Analytics Engineer, you’ll own our analytics infrastructure from end-to-end. From customizing sophisticated data transformations in dbt to creating insightful Looker Studio dashboards, your work will empower internal teams, streamline processes, and deliver extraordinary value directly to our clients.
What You'll Do:
- Own and Optimize Analytics Pipelines: Architect and manage scalable, robust data models leveraging BigQuery, SQL, and dbt Cloud.
- Powerful Data Visualizations: Develop advanced, actionable dashboards in Looker Studio, continuously improving reporting capabilities and automating insights.
- Data Integration and Reliability: Lead integration efforts across marketing platforms (Funnel.io, Airbyte, Shopify, Google Ads, Meta Ads), proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining impeccable data quality.
- Predictive Analytics & AI: Collaborate directly with founders and key stakeholders to integrate predictive modeling and AI-driven insights via BigQuery ML, Vertex AI, and OpenAI.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, managing agile sprints through ClickUp, aligning strategic data initiatives to overarching business goals.
- Cost Optimization: Actively monitor and optimize BigQuery infrastructure and data queries to ensure efficient resource utilization and cost management.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and grow future analytics team members, managing junior analytics staff or external resources to support scaling efforts.
Examples of What You May Work On:
- Designing and deploying predictive models in BigQuery ML to forecast campaign effectiveness and optimize media spend in real-time.
- Developing automated Looker Studio dashboards to provide immediate, actionable insights directly influencing client strategy.
- Streamlining data/reporting pipeline setup for new client onboarding, aiming to dramatically reducing time from hours to minutes.
- Implementing AI-based tagging and classification with Vertex AI to enhance creative asset performance tracking.
- Establishing comprehensive data quality monitoring and alerting frameworks to proactively detect and resolve issues before they impact client visibility.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If:
- You have 4+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering, including at least 2 years of deep hands-on experience with dbt.
- You're exceptionally skilled with SQL, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, dbt, and Looker Studio.
- You have a strong command of ecommerce-specific digital marketing data (Google Analytics 4, Meta Ads, Shopify analytics).
- You’re energized by the prospect of integrating cutting-edge AI/ML tools into data workflows and products.
- You possess outstanding communication skills, capable of translating complex data clearly to stakeholders across diverse teams.
- You enjoy owning your outcomes and thrive in environments where you can make immediate, impactful contributions.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with Funnel.io or similar ELT platforms
- Background in predictive modeling or AI-driven analytics (Vertex AI, BigQuery ML), and/or experience integrating Open AI API with existing data
- Previous experience in agency or consultancy environments
- Relevant certifications (dbt, Google Cloud Data Engineer)
- 1+ years of experience in writing python and/or php
