Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a second-shift Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to maintain, operate, inspect, and repair ammonia refrigeration equipment at a poultry processing plant. This role requires performing preventive and predictive maintenance, testing equipment to spec tolerances, and troubleshooting issues to ensure safe, compliant operation.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration, strong math/computer skills, and NOCTI HVAC certification levels

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Thorough knowledge of ammonia refrigeration components and electrical/mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room.
• Take system readings and report variances to leadership.
• Identify root causes and repair or escalate issues.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance per schedule.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report/rectify.
• Train entry level personnel as needed.
