Job summary

Jones County Schools is seeking a Coordinator of Alternative and Virtual Education to develop and oversee programs for students needing nontraditional settings. The role collaborates with teachers, parents, and community partners to align academic and social-emotional supports and ensures policy compliance and program evaluation.

The position reports to the Director of Customized Learning, with an emphasis on innovative learning opportunities and effective staff supervision, under an exempt,

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Educational Administration or related field.
• Georgia Certificate in Educational Leadership Tier I or II.
• At least 5 years in K-12 school programs, with administrative/alternative/virtual experience preferred.
• Administrative experience in an alternative setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee alternative and virtual education programs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community organizations to support students' needs.
• Ensure compliance with policies and manage staff across programs.
• Oversee student discipline and evaluate program effectiveness to improve outcomes.
• Lead planning for innovative learning opportunities (e.g., night school).
• Coordinate scheduling of classes and customized learning activities for students.
• Serve as a liaison among virtual providers, district personnel, counselors, and administrators.
