Job summary

Shield AI, a defense-tech innovator, seeks a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to lead the mechanical integration of aircraft subsystems from concept to production. You will own installation design, subsystem packaging, and routing of electrical & fluid systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure manufacturable, robust solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong aircraft design fundamentals, hands-on CAD and GD&T expertise, and a track record of guiding integration efforts

Qualifications

• Lead mechanical integration of aircraft subsystems from concept to production.
• Strong CAD modeling and detailed drawing capability.
• Experience with integration of electrical, avionics, propulsion and manufacturing interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical integration of complete aircraft subsystems from concept through production.
• Develop installation architecture for complex aircraft systems and routing of electrical and fluid systems.
• Design machined, composite, fabricated, and sheet metal assemblies with advanced engineering judgment.
• Create installation drawings, assembly docs, and configuration baselines for production readiness.
• Perform tolerance analyses, hand calculations, and engineering trade studies.
• Coordinate integration activities during prototype builds, assembly, and production.
• Mentor junior engineers in CAD, GD&T, installation design, and best practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues affecting manufacturability, schedule, or cost.
• Support planning, scheduling and execution for assigned work packages.
