Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. seeks a Lead Aircraft Paint Technician in Chattanooga, TN for a full-time, on-site role. The position requires leading teams, managing work orders, log book entries, and directing project flow in the paint shop.

8+ years’ experience in painting aircraft or related fields is preferred. A high school diploma is required; a valid driver’s license or passport is ideal. Weekend shifts, differential pay, and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
• 8+ years’ experience painting aircraft, autobody, RV or marine preferred.
• Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job and ability to lead small work groups with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management of production crew to ensure scheduling demands are met.
• Coordinate schedule with other departments.
• Training of individual team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Scheduling with parts department to ensure necessary materials required to complete the jobs are available.
• Assist in final inspection of aircraft.
• Maintain the premises of the paint shop and work facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
• Attend work daily including overtime and weekend assignments.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
