Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Aircraft Painter for a contract-to-hire role based in Phoenix, AZ. You will prepare and paint aircraft surfaces, mix coatings, mask complex areas, and ensure adherence to blueprints, manuals, and aviation regulations. The shift is first shift, with overtime as needed.

Candidates need 5+ years of aircraft painting, experience with spray guns, surface prep, masking, and reading technical docs. Valid driver's license preferred and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of aircraft painting or closely related painting experience.
• Experience with paint preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and surface conditioning.
• Proficiency using paint spray guns and related spray painting equipment.
• Masking techniques for complex surfaces and aircraft markings.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret technical data, maintenance manuals, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare surfaces, mix and thin coatings, and apply primers and finishes.
• Mask and cover surfaces to ensure clean paint lines.
• Operate spray equipment and apply topcoats and sealers.
• Strip existing paint as needed and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
