Job summary

Southwest Airlines seeks a Supervisor of Aircraft Maintenance to lead the team ensuring safety, reliability, and on-time departures. You will support mechanics in hangar or airport environments, coordinating with airport operations to prepare each aircraft for departure.

The role requires deep knowledge of FAA regulations, strong leadership, and a focus on accurate documentation, with shifts including early mornings and holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines for hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of FARs and other regulatory documents to ensure FAA compliance.
• Strong leadership and team coaching capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and derive solutions.
• Experience documenting maintenance and regulatory records.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance teams to meet department metrics.
• Set daily expectations and supervise adherence to procedures.
• Communicate process changes to staff and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with the Southwest Technical Operations Handbook.
• Verify maintenance work and documentation before aircraft return to service.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Control on aircraft status and requirements.
• Perform additional duties as needed by leadership.
