Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking a Lead Maintenance Inspector in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on supervising quality control, reviewing technician work, and ensuring compliance with FAA standards and West Star procedures.

You will perform spot checks, verify MEL procedures, and release aircraft after final walk-through. The position requires an A&P license or Repairman certificate, a high school diploma, and extensive maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; A&P license or Repairman Certificate required.
• Extensive maintenance/PM/alterations experience with Part 43 procedures.
• Ability to read and apply maintenance manuals and technical data.

Responsibilities

• Review technician assignments and sign-offs to ensure adherence to authorizations.
• Perform front-line spot checks of maintenance activity per AMM and GMM guidelines.
• Verify MEL procedures and ensure proper documentation and communication.
• Conduct final walk-around and release of the aircraft to customer.
• Use current technical data and procedures for inspections and repairs.
• Tag, inspect, and identify parts and components per RSQCM requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and provide clear communications in English.
