Job summary

Quartus Engineering seeks an experienced Aircraft Loads and Dynamics Engineer to lead loads and dynamics analyses for fixed-wing and rotorcraft. Expertise in aeroelasticity, certification requirements (FAR/CS Parts 23, 25, 27, 29), and engine imbalance analysis is essential.

The role offers a fully remote option for US-based candidates or hybrid work in Herndon, VA or San Diego, CA, with mentorship of junior engineers and collaboration with the business development team.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or similar Engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in aircraft/rotorcraft static loads and criteria.
• Experience with static and dynamic load derivation for aircraft.
• Experience developing aeroelastic analysis models.
• Proficiency with MSC NASTRAN, ZAERO, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
• Familiarity with Patran, FEMAP, RCAS, Adams, or comparable tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic loads analysis for flight and ground conditions (gust, turbulence, takeoff, landing, etc.).
• Develop load cases compliant with certification requirements and design criteria.
• Support development of aerodynamic databases and load envelopes with the aerodynamics group.
• Conduct aeroelastic analyses (flutter, divergence, control reversal) per FAA/CS rules.
• Perform sustained engine imbalance analysis and assess its effects on loads and dynamics.
• Prepare technical reports and compliance data packages for FAA/EASA.
