Job summary

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, seeks a Surveillance Systems Lead Engineer in Patuxent River, MD. The role leads airborne surveillance systems, ensuring certification, integration, and safety across Naval Aviation platforms.

The position is full-time and hybrid, requiring 60%+ onsite at Patuxent River. Requires Do-?260/181/185/300/385 knowledge, DO-260 series, and active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with airborne surveillance systems incl. ADS-B Out/In, Mode S, TCAS/ACAS.
• Strong knowledge of certification standards (DO-260/DO-181/DO-185/DO-300/DO-385) and FAA Circulars/ICAO.
• Experience in: systems engineering, airworthiness certification, requirements management, risk mgmt and VERIFICATION/validation.
• Ability to lead technical teams and provide engineering oversight across programs.
• Active Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as branch technical authority for airborne surveillance systems.
• Establish engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
• Provide oversight and direction to surveillance engineering team.
• Lead certification activities for ADS-B (Out/In), Mode S, and future surveillance technologies.
• Support TCAS, ACAS, and collision avoidance system certification efforts.
• Coordinate with PMAs, CHENGs, TWHs, FAA, industry partners and international stakeholders.
