Job summary

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, seeks a Junior Surveillance Systems Engineer to join our Patuxent River, MD team. You will assist with integration, testing, and evaluation of airborne surveillance systems across Naval Aviation platforms, under senior engineers.

The role covers ADS‑B, Mode S, and TCAS, with certification, analysis, and documentation support. The position is full-time with hybrid work (onsite 60%+ required).

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of avionics or aerospace systems.
• Exposure to surveillance systems concepts (ADS‑B, transponders, or collision avoidance systems).
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with verification & validation (V&V) concepts and engineering documentation processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn and apply technical concepts in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the evaluation and integration of airborne surveillance systems.
• Support analysis of system behavior, interfaces, and interoperability.
• Assist in certification activities and related documentation.
• Support systems engineering activities including requirements review and basic analysis.
• Assist with laboratory, ground, and flight testing activities and data analysis.
• Prepare engineering documentation such as test reports and analysis summaries.
