Job summary

Point Quest, Inc. is seeking a Lead Aide I to provide academic and behavioral support within a school setting. You will assist teachers with IEP implementation, monitor student safety, and help maintain a positive, structured environment.

The role requires collaboration with school personnel, strong English communication, and reliable, flexible staff capable of managing multiple tasks and documentation duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a school or treatment setting with students' behavioral needs.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance.
  • Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient written and verbal English with professional communication.
  • Reliability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Academic & Behavioral Support and assist with IEPs.
  • Implement classroom behavior management and coach students.
  • Support instructional activities and supervise during breaks and lunch.
  • Maintain attendance records and assist in documentation.
  • Assist transportation transitions and record keeping.
  • Collaborate with school staff on behavior support strategies.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and functional school environment.
  • Assist with moving between classrooms and basic student care.

Job description

Job Title: Lead Aide I

Pay Range: Based on experience

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Academic & Behavioral Support
  • Assists the teacher with implementing the students' Individual Education Plans (IEP)
  • Able to understand and implement a BIP
  • Provides instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher
  • Participate in, and/or facilitate recreational activities of various sorts (i.e. athletic, arts, and crafts, off-campus trips, cultural awareness, etc.)
  • Implement provided written assignments, as needed
  • Document and report all legal, education, and service records/files as needed
  • Supports in record keeping, as directed by the teacher
  • Implements the classroom or social behavior management system, including coaching students so that they can quickly return to school tasks
  • Skill Competencies Review and evaluate the performance of all staff members to ensure the proper implementation of treatment/behavioral plans daily
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Collaborate with school personnel with behavior support strategies
  • Active Supervision
  • Helps maintain the physical school environment to keep it functional, safe, and clean
  • Supervises students during class breaks and during lunch
  • Assists students with eating, using the bathroom and moving from one classroom to another
  • Maintains consistent awareness of client's whereabouts to ensure safety, including directing clients to appropriate groups or areas in the community or school
  • Including but not limited to, transportation transitions
  • Reports daily attendance of students and staff to Supervisor
  • Assists in maintaining Student Support Kits, and ensuring staff complete both monthly service and break logs
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma, equivalent or two-year degree or equivalent combinations of training and experience
  • Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional problems as a Behavioral Aide.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful
  • Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
  • Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
  • Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
  • Reliability, dependability and flexibility
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
