Job summary

You will partner with engineers, scientists, PMs to deliver AI-powered products, optimize training and inference, and contribute to foundational AI systems roadmap using AWS, PyTorch, HuggingFace, and VectorDBs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus extensive AI/ML experience.
• 10+ years of AI/ML algorithm development or related technology experience; strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with production-grade AI systems, LLMs, and scalable inference

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, and observability.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch.
• Invent and apply state‑of‑the‑art LLМ optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, latency, and cost.
• Contribute to the long-term roadmap and technical vision for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
