Job summary
Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a growing R&D team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on AI-enabled defense software, cloud services, and collaboration with business stakeholders in a startup-style environment.
The engineer will mentor junior developers, drive the development of AI-powered tools for safety-critical applications, and work onsite Monday through Friday. This is a 1-year W2 contract with benefits.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience across cloud, AI, and DevOps domains.
- Experience mentoring junior developers and engineers.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and deploy AI-enabled software, services, and products.
- Build cloud-based applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations leveraging data and analytics for rapid iteration.
- Advance product development by integrating avionics technologies with AI/ML, LLM, and NLP tooling.
- Collaborate with Agile teams in Product & Engineering, providing guidance across multiple sub-projects.
- Improve scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability of next-generation systems.
