The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks a Lead AI Researcher to define strategic direction and advance measurement science. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with coursework in mathematics and statistics.
At least 1 year of specialized experience at GS-14 level in AI measurement science or related.
Experience in establishing strategic technical direction and AI tool development.

Responsibilities

Define strategic direction for the AI mission and set long-term priorities.
Apply ML, DL, and NLP to design and evaluate AI systems addressing national challenges.
Lead development of novel test software, methodologies, and AI benchmarks.
Conduct independent, original research advancing measurement science and standards.
