Job summary

DEUNA is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the AI/ML engineering team building the intelligent systems behind payment routing optimization and AI-powered automation. You will manage ~7-8 engineers across ML, backend, and platform work, guiding architecture decisions and coaching the team toward high-quality delivery.

This hands-on management role requires depth in ML systems, backend services, and AI/LLM workflows, with ownership of delivery scoping, costing, and roadmaps in a fast-moving

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including 2-3+ years in a people management role leading engineers.
• Significant experience shipping backend and/or ML systems at scale, ideally in fintech/payments or regulated domains.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineers while balancing delivery pressure.
• Hands-on familiarity with ML systems: model training/serving, LLM workflows, or similar.
• Exposure to production-grade AI/LLM-based systems (agents, RAG, orchestration).
• Strong communication with cross-functional partners in product and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of AI/ML and platform engineers, including hiring and career development.
• Coach engineers through design decisions, code/architecture reviews, and trade-offs.
• Set engineering standards, testing strategy, and CI/CD practices.
• Drive accurate costing and delivery estimates, keep commitments.
